Jalandhar Police has been arrested two tour agents for allegedly defrauding few youths of quite a few lakhs on pretext of sending them abroad.
According to the complaint, the company had asked for the amount of 12 lakh rupees from those two youths and had promised them to send them Canada and they had also assured for arranging job for them.
They were asked to pay an amount of 2.6 lakh rupees in form of advance payment and the residual quantity was to be remunerated after they reached Canada. They were asked to arrange the money. But after many months also those youths did not get their visa.
On asking for return the money they had handed over fake cheques to those two individuals which were obvious to get bounced in the bank.
On not getting their money back, they had filed a complaint with the Police Commissioner. ACP in his report has said that the travel company owner is guilty of committing the fraud and suggested to lodge an FIR.
As per the Police, six additional complaints has been received against this company which includes eight lakh rupees of scam on alleged reason of sending people to the US. and 4.85 lakh rupees of scam on alleged reason of sending another to the US and another 2.6 lakh rupees of scam.
