President Trump's anti-immigration policy is perhaps one of the surest things that are unlikely to change as far as he remains the leader of the country.
Such policies have dealt migrating caravans a great blow. In his latest tweet, Mr. Trump said that the Central American asylum seekers presently in Tijuana will bring the large scale of crime and disease into the US if allowed into the country, a claim earlier made by Fox News commentators.
The claim of migrants bringing disease into the US has been made severally on Fox News, but no evidence of Americans being affected by diseases brought in by asylum seekers has been provided so far.
Mr. Trump accused opposition party, Democrats, of promoting open border policy which leaves room for just anyone to enter the country.
Government Shut Down
Many asylum seekers who have attempted breaching the US border, over and beneath the wall, have been rounded up by officers at the border. Many, 5,000 and more, are still waiting in Tijuana to make asylum claims in the US while a good number have returned to their countries following the seemingly hopeless case of getting asylum.
Mr. Trump has been aggressively seeking funding to build a border wall which will effectively put an end to breaches. The president revealed on Twitter that he looks forward to a meeting with Chunk Schumer and Nancy Pelosi, Senior Minority Leader and House Minority Leader respectively, that could help avoid any talk of government shutdown ahead of the festive season as a result of lack of funding for President Trump’s border wall between US and Mexico.
He highlighted that Democrats who are fighting the border wall today voted for border wall in 2006 and he insisted the wall will be built. Part of the wall has already been built, and if Democrats refuse to vote in support of the wall, Military will complete the rest of the wall because they appreciate the importance, said the president.
