Five individuals have been detained in Neath Port Talbot and Powys after checking by immigration officials in the UK.
The immigration officers had visited The Cabinet Chinese takeaway in Presteigne previous week where an individual’s business got expired.
Another individual and a woman were found to be residing in the country illegitimately.
Meanwhile, in the region of Port Talbot, a Sri Lankan citizen was detained by the immigration officers for illegally staying in the country even after his student visa got expired and an Indian citizen doing the job at a shop located at Victoria Road had no permission to do the job.
The Chinese takeaway employees and the Sri Lankan citizen who was found in neighboring accommodation owned by the shop manager were detained and measures are being taken for removing them from the nation.
The shop employee had no permission for work and must report regularly to the UK Home Office while his case is being assessed.
Both the premises has been informed that they could face the penalty of up to 20,000 pounds until they could show that proper right to work document checking were carried out.
