The US-caravan immigrants’ saga continues to unfold in captivating manners, just as expected. In the latest twist, Donald Trump, president of the United States profoundly condemned the Democrats pro-immigration policies – where they advocate an open border policy which makes it easy for illegal immigrants to get into the US. Trump, a Republican, justified his position by stating that each year; illegal immigration costs American taxpayers nothing less than $100 billion.

The migrating caravans are said to be mostly of three Latin American countries (Honduras, El Salvador, and Guatemala). Mr. Trump has repeatedly made it clear that dangerous people are amidst these people hence posing a great danger to the US. He also affirmed that his government wouldn’t allow this, thus telling the migrants to go back. Troops have already been deployed to stop such entry into the US and are also empowered to arrest in case of an attack on them which could come in the form of stone throwing by the migrants.

The tenable argument, relevant figures would have to be stated, and this exactly is what Mr. Trump did. The cost of $100 billion mentioned by Mr. Trump is more than three times the annual budget of Indiana. In a rally in Indiana, he said such money should be spent on people who care about America, not people who will disrupt the system.

He continued to say that almost the entire heroin in the US came through illegal immigration that is via the southern border. The same can be said of cocaine and the likes.

Maybe Trump Has a Point

If these facts are anything to go by, perhaps the United States of America has to revisit policies surrounding immigration and find a better position for parties involved. As the president said, the US cannot get emotional about things neglecting apparent dangers in the process.

The country is open to receiving people but must be done legally concluded the president
